The key to passing the test is to have the fake piss at the right temperature for testing.
In the tests that were performed, there is a problem with the hand warmers being low quality. If the hand warmers kept the urine up to the desired temperature, there would probably be more people passing.

The shelf life for XStream Synthetic is not listed on the website by the company. The company does state that if the package is opened and not used it must be discarded so apparently, it does go bad.
Can it be used again after being heated?
This product is not designed to be heated and cooled over and over. After heating it for the initial test, it is not to be used again. There will be times when you will have to throw kits away if not being used right away. If you are planning on using this product it may be advisable to purchase more than one kit.
What if the temperature strip doesn’t work?
If the temperature strip does not work, then the temperature of the urine must be adjusted to the right temperature. The fake piss is either too hot or too cold. You can pretty much tell by feeling the liquid.
Do I need the urine belt?
